  • Associations of exposure to volatile organic compounds with biological aging

    Open Access•Xinyu Shi, X M Shi et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

VOCs exposure was associated with biological aging, and daily behaviors may influence an individual's susceptibility to such exposure. This discovery provided a new way of thinking about slowing down the aging process and improving overall health

  • A Hybrid Model Based on Improved Transformer and Graph Convolutional Network for Covid-19 Forecasting

    Open Access•Yulan Li, Kun Ma•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2022

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has spread rapidly around the world since 2020, with a significant fatality rate. Until recently, numerous countries were unable to adequately control the pandemic. As a result, COVID-19 trend prediction has become a hot topic in academic circles. Both traditional models and existing deep learning (DL) models have the problem of low prediction accuracy. In this paper, we propose a hybrid model based on an i…

  • A 250-item list of Old Chinese vocabulary in the Baxter-Sagart reconstruction

Laurent Sagart, Kun Ma•ARTICLE•Cahiers de linguistique - Asie…•2020

A 250-concept list was established for the purposes of an ongoing lexically-based study of Sino-Tibetan. This paper supplies the Old Chinese version of the list, in the Old Chinese reconstruction of Baxter and Sagart 2014. Chinese words attested in pre-Han times were selected based on their meaning as given in major lexica such as the Hànyǔ Dà Zìdiǎn. At times more than one OC item was found to match a concept in the list without it being clear w…

  • Dingkun Pill replenishes diminished ovarian reserve through the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in TWP-induced mice

Open Access•Kun Ma, Yanxia Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2020

  • Place vulnerability assessment based on the HOP model in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River

Open Access•Naijing Guo, Xiaolan Tang et al.•ARTICLE•GeoJournal•2019•References: 4

  • Refining soil organic carbon stock estimates for China’s palustrine wetlands

Open Access•Kun Ma, Junguo Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2015

Palustrine wetlands (PWs) include all bogs, fens, swamps and marshes that are non-saline and which are not lakes or rivers. They therefore form a highly important group of wetlands which hold large carbon stocks. If these wetlands are not protected properly they could become a net carbon source in the future. Compilation of spatially explicit wetland databases, national inventory data and in situ measurement of soil organic carbon (SOC) could be …

  • Depression, Loneliness, and Health in an Adverse Living Environment

    Open Access•C K Cheung, Kwan-Kwok Leung et al.•ARTICLE•Social Behavior and Personality…•1998

Issues concerning deleterious effects of an adverse living environment, characterized by crowded, noisy, and dirty conditions, have been debatable. One way out of this debate is delineating paths through which the living environment affects outcome variables. The resident's perception of the environment and social relation may lead to such paths. While past studies tended to demonstrate the mediating role of social support, they employed samples …
