Excess of infection with Sars-CoV-2 during the first versus second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic among patients with long Covid
Post-COVID-19 condition affects up to 10% of patients months after a COVID-19 episode. Population-based epidemiology suggests that self-reported long COVID in France might be more common among those infected during the first wave of the pandemic than the second one, supporting the role of contextual risk factors in symptom persistence in some patients. We aimed to examine whether this pattern could also be observed in a clinical setting, consider…
Hepatitis C virus cure from direct‐acting antivirals and mortality: Are people with and without a history of injection drug use in the same boat? ( ANRS CO22 Hepather cohort)
Changes in household use of disinfectant and cleaning products during the first lockdown period in France
The frequency and duration of weekly use of HDCPs has significantly increased since the pandemic. As the use of HDCPs is associated with health issues, further studies are now needed to evaluate the potential health impacts of these changes
Risk of Sars-CoV-2 infection in professional settings, shops, shared transport, and leisure activities in France, 2020–2022
GOV (03/09/2022): NCT04607941
Minimal clinically important differences in health-related quality of life after treatment with direct-acting antivirals for chronic hepatitis C: ANRS CO22 Hepather cohort (PROQOL-HCV)
Reduction of Sars-CoV-2 intra-household child-to-parent transmission associated with ventilation: Results from a case–control study
ClinicalTrials.gov registration number: NCT04607941
Impaired health-related quality of life in the HCV cure era: Who is concerned? (ANRS CO22 Hepather French cohort)
Association between positive psychological traits and changes in dietary behaviour related to first Covid-19 lockdown: A general population-based study
Antibody status and cumulative incidence of Sars-CoV-2 infection among adults in three regions of France following the first lockdown and associated risk factors: A multicohort study
BACKGROUND: We aimed to estimate the seropositivity to anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies in May-June 2020 after the first lockdown period in adults living in three regions in France and to identify the associated risk factors. METHODS: Between 4 May 2020 and 23 June 2020, 16 000 participants in a survey on COVID-19 from an existing consortium of three general adult population cohorts living in the Ile-de-France (IDF) or Grand Est (GE) (two regions with …
When lockdown policies amplify social inequalities in Covid-19 infections: Evidence from a cross-sectional population-based survey in France
Lockdown was associated with social inequalities in the decline in COVID-19 infections, calling for the adoption of preventive policies to account for living and working conditions. Such adoptions are critical to reduce social inequalities related to COVID-19, as working-class individuals also have the highest COVID-19 related mortality, due to higher prevalence of comorbidities
Causal analysis of H1N1pdm09 influenza infection risk in a household cohort
BACKGROUND: Obtaining a comprehensive quantitative figure of the determinants of influenza infection will help identify priority targets for future influenza mitigation interventions. We developed an original causal model integrating highly diverse factors and their dependencies, to identify the most critical determinants of pandemic influenza infection (H1N1pdm09) during the 2010-2011 influenza season. METHODS: We used data from 601 households (…
Integrative study of pandemic A/H1N1 influenza infections: Design and methods of the CoPanFlu-France cohort
The large amount of data collected throughout the follow-up will permit a multidisciplinary study of influenza infections. Additional data is being collected and analyzed in this ongoing cohort. The longitudinal analysis of these households will permit integrative analyses of complex phenomena such as individual, collective and environmental risk factors of infection, routes of transmission, or determinants of the immune response to infection or …
Risk perception and priority setting for intervention among hepatitis C virus and environmental risks: A cross-sectional survey in the Cairo community
The Cairo community prefers to further improving water supply as compared to improved outdoor air quality and screening and treatment of chronic hepatitis C
“If you have the flu symptoms, your asymptomatic spouse may better answer the willingness-to-pay question”
A new out-patient care facility for HIV-infected destitute populations in Paris, France
In France, the entire population theoretically has access to health coverage, but in fact a section of the poorest population does not. Institutions have therefore been set up to provide medical care for the destitute. The objectives of this study were to describe the social characteristics of the HIV-positive destitute population attending an out-patient clinic providing free health care for the destitute in a Paris University Hospital, to compa…
Influenza mortality among the elderly in France, 1980-90: How many deaths may have been avoided through vaccination
STUDY OBJECTIVES--This study aimed to assess total influenza mortality among the elderly (> or = 75 years old) in France, and to evaluate how many deaths may have been avoided through vaccination during the past 10 years. DESIGN--The monthly mortality rates related to different causes among the elderly were obtained from the national mortality statistics for the period 1978-90. For each cause, the proportion of the registered death rate attributa…
