Tracking Uncertainty in Derived Height Data
This chapter discusses the tracking of uncertainty in height data derived from stereo imagery that has been obtained from an airborne electro-optical digital multi-spectral imaging system. The overall objective of the software described has been to prepare the data for input into Geographic Information Systems, and to provide the ground coordinates of the data with the greatest accuracy possible. This article has two objectives: to provide a brie…

Weight at Third Birthday related to Birth Weight, Duration of Gestation, and Birth Order
It is now well recognized that the weight ofchildren during the first few years of life is closely related to their weight at birth. This point has been made by Illingworth in a number of publications
Period between Ovulation and Birth
Observations on all Births (23,970) in Birmingham, 1947
of known weight
Observations on all Births (23,970) in Birmingham, 1947
Numbers in brackets are numbers of deaths in the first month of life
Observations on all Births (23,970) in Birmingham, 1947
This communication presents evidence on the association of the birth weight of children born in Birmingham during 1947 with the economic circumstances of their parents. This matter was considered by Baird (1945), who recorded differ- ences in the proportion of infants born prematurely (as identified by weight) in nursing home, hospital, and specialist practice, and more recently by Such comparisons clearly require some consideration of the effect…

Observations on all Births (23,970) in Birmingham, 1947
Observations previously published on the duration of gestation (Gibson and McKeown, 1950) and birth weight (McKeown and Gibson, 1951) lend themselves to an examination of the association between these variables and foetal mortality. Data available for single births in Birmingham during 1947 are exhibited in Table I, separately for stillbirths, first-year deaths, and births which survived to the end of the first year of life. We have previously di…
Observations on all Births (23,970) in Birmingham, 1947
Birth weight is included in Tables II and III because we later make use of information about weight in examining the randomness of data available on duration of gestation. t B1 is a measure of skewness; B2 is a measure of kurtosis. In the normal distribution B1=O; B2=3 0
