  • Epidemiological impact and cost-effectiveness analysis of Covid-19 vaccination in Kenya

Open Access•Stacey Orangi, John Ojal et al.•ARTICLE•BMJ Global Health•2022

BACKGROUND: A few studies have assessed the epidemiological impact and the cost-effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in settings where most of the population had been exposed to SARS-CoV-2 infection. METHODS: We conducted a cost-effectiveness analysis of COVID-19 vaccine in Kenya from a societal perspective over a 1.5-year time frame. An age-structured transmission model assumed at least 80% of the population to have prior natural immunity when an …

  • Efficacy of contact tracing for the containment of the 2019 novel coronavirus (Covid-19)

    Open Access•Matt J Keeling, T Deirdre Hollingsworth et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 18

Objective Contact tracing is a central public health response to infectious disease outbreaks, especially in the early stages of an outbreak when specific treatments are limited. Importation of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) from China and elsewhere into the UK highlights the need to understand the impact of contact tracing as a control measure. Design Detailed survey information on social encounters from over 5800 respondents is coupled to predict…

  • The role of movement restrictions in limiting the economic impact of livestock infections

    Open Access•Michael J Tildesley, Sarah R Brand et al.•ARTICLE•Nature Sustainability•2019•Cited by: 1

  • Networks and epidemic models

Open Access•Matt J Keeling, Ken Eames et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of The Royal Society…•2005

Networks and the epidemiology of directly transmitted infectious diseases are fundamentally linked. The foundations of epidemiology and early epidemiological models were based on population wide random-mixing, but in practice each individual has a finite set of contacts to whom they can pass infection; the ensemble of all such contacts forms a ‘mixing network’. Knowledge of the structure of the network allows models to compute the epidemic dynami…

  • Method of endoscopy in the chimpanzee: Relations of ovarian anatomy, endometrial histology and sexual swelling

    Open Access•Charles E Graham, M Keeling et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1973•Cited by: 3•References: 8

Endoscopy was performed on adult female chimpanzees at various intervals before and after detumescence of the sexual swelling. The method required inhalation anesthesia, Trendelenberg positioning, abdominal insufflation with CO 2 and a 10 mm photo‐endoscope inserted infra‐umbilically. Accessory instruments were introduced into each of the lower quadrants. Mechanical ventilation and careful physiologic monitoring were necessary to control cardiac …
