Open Access•Myriam Patricia Cifuentes, Laura A Rodríguez-Villamizar et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Epidemiology and…•2021•Cited by: 7•References: 25

BACKGROUND: After 8 months of the COVID-19 pandemic, Latin American countries have some of the highest rates in COVID-19 mortality. Participants received a questionnaire packet designed to assess aspects of their mental and physical health and relationship with a canine companion, w…

  • Mortality among critically ill patients with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteremia

Open Access•Juan Sebastián Castillo, Aura Lucía Leal et al.•ARTICLE•Revista Panamericana de Salud…•2012

Methicillin resistance per se was not a mortality-independent prognostic factor. Previous conditions, such as age, baseline renal impairment, severe sepsis, and inotropy demand explained the observed mortality. Appropriate antimicrobial therapy remained a protective factor. A call to improve infection control measures in Colombia is mandatory
