Multi‐Source Rainfall Erosivity Fusion Based on Machine Learning Models
High‐accuracy rainfall erosivity (RE) data are essential for understanding soil erosion processes. However, considerable differences exist among various precipitation datasets in terms of RE estimation. This study aimed to develop a machine learning‐based framework for multisource RE fusion to increase the accuracy and spatial consistency of RE estimation. To achieve this goal, RE data derived from station observations were used as a benchmark to…
From beliefs to satisfaction
This study investigates the interplay among prospective teachers’ motivations to teach, beliefs about teaching and satisfaction with their career choice, utilising the FIT-Choice scale. The findings suggested that beliefs regarding task return (e.g. social status, teacher morale and salary) positively correlated with motivations tied to social and personal utility values. Meanwhile, beliefs about task demand (e.g. expertise requirements and workl…
The potential of integration
Analyzes the integration of blue-green spaces and presents an objective-subjective evaluation framework. • Proposes quantifiable indicators for evaluating the integration of blue-green spaces. • Summarizes the theoretical foundation and future directions of how the integration of blue-green spaces promotes health. With the rapid pace of urbanization, public expectations for the ecological environment have shifted from basic material improvements …

Analyzing User Psychology and Behavior in Short-Form Video Shopping Platforms
This research investigates the psychology and behavior of users engaging in short-form video shopping platforms (SVSP) from a user experience perspective. By extending the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Information System Success Model (ISS), an intention-to-use model for SVSP was developed. We conducted a survey on participants of SVSP shopping through the Questionnaire Star platform, obtaining 1,026 valid responses. Structural equati…

A Study on the English Translation of the Three-Body Problems’ Terms from the Perspective of Cognitive Terminology
The emergence of the The Three-Body Problem series has reintroduced the marginalized literary genre into the critics’ field of view. The story background of the first part of The Three-Body Problem takes place during the Cultural Revolution. As a masterpiece of Chinese science fiction literature, the English translation of The Three-Body Problem has been studied actively, but the English translation of it is still relatively blank. Taking cogniti…
Why choose a career in teaching? Exploring motivational factors that influence the decision to teach
This paper reports the findings on motivational factors influencing teaching as a career choice from a qualitative study carried out in Scotland. Ten students undertaking a PGDE (Professional Graduate Diploma in Education) programme at one Scottish university were interviewed. The results indicate that the choice of a teaching career derived from the students’ internal needs for personal achievement and from an altruistic dimension pertaining to …
‘ I really like teaching, but… ’ understanding pre-service teachers’ motivations and perceptions about teaching as a career choice
This study investigates pre-service teachers’ motivations and perceptions about the decision to choose teaching as a career choice. Twenty-seven students who have embarked on teacher education programme in Scotland were interviewed. It was found that students conveyed ambivalent feelings and perspectives in the decision to teach in the sense that they perceived teaching as a platform to fulfil their career aspirations and enjoy themselves but als…
Prevalence of myopia
Purpose This study aimed to determine the prevalence of myopia among school-aged children and adolescents at the whole city level of Weifang, China. Methods This study was a large scale school-based cross-sectional study among children and adolescents aged 5–20 years old. Participants were selected by the school-based registration system in 2020. All the subjects underwent spherical equivalent (SE) error with non-cycloplegic autorefraction measur…
Conflits normatifs et conflits de normes
Perceived Social Support and Associated Factors Among Community-Dwelling Older Adults With Frailty and Pre-frailty in Hangzhou, China
The level of social support among frail and pre-frail community-dwelling older adults was lower than the robust older adults and influenced by different factors according to the frailty category, which suggests taking targeted measures for social support improvement
The Effect of Socioeconomic Factors on Spatiotemporal Patterns of PM2.5 Concentration in Beijing–Tianjin–Hebei Region and Surrounding Areas
The study investigated the spatiotemporal evolution of PM 2.5 concentration in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and surrounding areas during 2015-2017, and then analyzed its socioeconomic determinants. First, an estimation model considering spatiotemporal heterogeneous relationships was developed to accurately estimate the spatial distribution of PM 2.5 concentration. Additionally, socioeconomic determinants of PM 2.5 concentration were analyzed …
Brain mGluR5 in Shank3B−/− Mice Studied With in vivo [18F]FPEB PET Imaging and ex vivo Immunoblotting
Although several studies have found that metabotropic glutamate 5 receptor (mGluR5) may play an important role in autism spectrum disorders (ASD), the mechanisms remain unclear. Here, we used a Shank3 gene complete knockout mouse model (Shank3B -/- ) to explore the change in mGluR5 in the brain. To assess whether deletion of Shank3 in mice results in ASD-like behavior, we conducted a battery of behavioral experiments to characterize Shank3B -/- m…
The impact of social organizations on HIV/Aids prevention knowledge among migrants in Hefei, China
BACKGROUND: There is a growing recognition of the need to provide HIV/AIDS prevention and care to migrant workers. Social involvement, a type of social capital, is considered a 'critical enabler' of effective HIV/AIDS prevention. Designated participation in formal community groups by the government (e.g., political parties) and informal, voluntary local networks by NGOs (e.g., alumni association, cultural & sports club) play different roles in HI…
