  • Study on Two Typical Progressive Motions in Tai Chi (Bafa Wubu) Promoting Lower Extremity Exercise

Open Access•Haojie Li, Fang Peng et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

This is the first study to demonstrate the biomechanical performance of Bafa Wubu in professional athletes of Tai Chi. Two progressive motions of Bafa Wubu require the lower extremity to be slowly controlled, thereby resulting in a smaller ground reaction force. In addition, the loads of the three joints at the lower extremity all increase in the vertical direction and decrease in the lateral direction, reducing the possibility of lateral injury …

Presently, many breakthroughs have been accomplished in the research and development of drugs for the treatment of COVID-19, especially vaccines; however, some of the so-called COVID-19-specific drugs highlighted in the early stage failed to achieve the expected curative effect. There is no antiviral therapy available, by stimulating protective immunity v…

Recent reviews have called attention to limitations of existing observational measures of early childhood classroom quality, including low rater agreement, ceiling/floor effects, and imprecise estimation. We offer an introduction to the many-facet Rasch model (MFRM), discussing how it can be used to iteratively improve measures to address such limitations. We provide an example of applying the MFRM to develop the EMOtion TEaching Rating Scale (EM…
