  • A systematic literature review on risk perception of Artificial Narrow Intelligence

Jonas Benjamin Krieger, Frédéric Bouder et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Risk Research•2024•References: 9

The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has captured global attention recently, prompting the need to understand how associated risks are perceived. This paper attempts to fill this gap by providing a comprehensive overview of the topic, focusing especially on the most problematic area of Artificial Narrow Intelligence. Utilising a systematic literature review, we examined 64 studies focusing on both statistical and qualitative aspects of AI ris…

  • Sunk cost in investment decisions

Open Access•Marcello Negrini, Arno Riedl et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Economic Behavior &…•2022

We experimentally investigate the effect of sunk cost in a two-stage investment continuation task. After an initial investment, participants have to decide whether or not to continue the project with an additional investment. We do not find a standard sunk cost bias, but observe a robust reverse sunk cost effect: the larger the initial investment, the lower the likelihood to continue investing. This holds despite the fact that we replicate the st…

  • Still in Search of the Sunk Cost Bias

  • Organ donation and reciprocity

    Open Access•Hua-Jing Han, Matthias Wibral•ARTICLE•Journal of Economic Psychology•2020•Cited by: 2•References: 29

The willingness to donate organs post-mortem varies considerably both across and within countries. Linking these differences to personal characteristics is an important focus of research investigating the supply of donor organs. Anecdotal evidence and previous findings indirectly suggest that the desire to reciprocate others’ (un)willingness to donate organs plays an important role in the decision to become an organ donor. We use individual measu…

  • Equity and Efficiency in Multi-Worker Firms

    Open Access•Johannes Abeler, Steffen Altmann et al.•ARTICLE•Analyse & Kritik•2011•References: 17

In this article, we discuss recent evidence from experimental economics on the impact of social preferences on workplace behavior. We focus on situations in which a single employer interacts with multiple employees. Traditionally, equity and efficiency have been seen as opposing aims in such work environments: individual pay-for-performance wage schemes maximize of efficiency but might lead to inequitable outcomes. We present findings from labora…
