  • Saint-Pierre 2 (Eyguières, Bouches-du-Rhône)

Michel Poguet, Jean-Pierre Pelletier et al.•ARTICLE•Revue archéologique de Narbonnaise•2002

Surveys discovered a loose agglomeration established in the last quarter of the 1st century B. C, below an oppidum at the cross of roads. There are a dozen of buildings distributed on 6 hectares. The piedmont vicus was deserted at the beguinning of the IlIrd century A. D. and it moved to a plain settlement 200 meters away when buildings and a sewerage system where built before the construction of the late villa at the end of the IlIrd century — b…

  • Les Dérivées-des-Sigillées Paléochrétiennes de Saint-Pierre de Vence (Eyguières, B.-du-Rh.)

Yves Rigoir, Jean-Pierre Pelletier et al.•ARTICLE•Revue archéologique de Narbonnaise•2001

A very important set of Dérivées des Sigillées paléochrétiennes ware was discovered in Saint-Pierre villa at Eyguières (Bouches-du-Rhône). The inventory of shapes and patterns with ehristian symbols points out to the origin of these productions: South Provence and Rhône valley. Stratigraphy gave chronological marks (Vth and VIth centuries A.D.) which are seldom encountered for this ware

A first part introduces the synthesis of prospectings carried out systematically for fifteen years on the territory of Eyguières and on its direct surroundings. The assessment of about ninety listed sites and newly discovered equipment concerns all the epochs, from prehistory — thirty sites from the middle Neolithic to the Iron Age — until the Middle Ages. Eight archeological maps relate the development of the human settlement allocation on the l…

    Jean-Pierre Pelletier, Jean‐Pierre Pelletier et al.•ARTICLE•Documents d Archéologie Méridionale•1989•Cited by: 1
