The Cultural Layer of the City of Kirensk
The city of Kirensk has been studied by archaeological methods for over a century; its research was initiated by the commission of the Eastern Siberian Branch of the Russian Geographical Society. During that time, a number of Neolithic and Bronze Age sites, and a burial ground were discovered within the city. The project of a gas distribution pipeline covering the entire city necessitated a virtually complete archaeological survey. Cultural layer…
Potential of Micro-Computed Tomography in Analyzing Insert Fixation in Composite Tools
This study presents the results of using micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) for non-destructive analysis of the internal structure of composite slotted tools. The research focused on technological features of the assembly and fixation of microblade inserts, distribution of adhesive material, the depth of insertion, and the orientation of individual elements. Four experimental samples were made of antler and bone; microblade inserts were fi xed …

We present the data on Krasnobrodsky-1, a new archaeological heritage site from established in the course of archaeological survey in the summer of 2025 in the northern part of the Prokopyevsk municipal district of the Kemerovo region presumably dating to the Late Stone Age. The site is located far from other Late Paleolithic settlement sites in the Tom River basin. The site did not show any geomorphological features, and the terrain did not seem…
Problem of Identifying the Sites of the Irmen Culture in the Northern Salair Region
The unique capacity of the Northern Salair region in terms of natural resources is manifested in ore deposits, forest hunting grounds, and forest-steppe spaces favorable for cattle breeding. During the Late Bronze Age, tribes of the Irmen culture lived in that region with the Berd and Inya river basins as their main habitation areas. Most of the sites were identified in accordance with the available search criteria. However, spatial location of f…
Health Promotion and Care—Approaches and Trends
Throughout the history and even prehistory of humankind, efforts have been made to improve health, including the treatment and cure of disease and wounds. These efforts have led to a variety of beliefs and approaches to healthcare, involving a variety of different paradigms. If we examine a representative sampling of these approaches, we can see radical differences in theory and practice. Perhaps inevitably, practitioners of one school of thought…
Una reconsideración de la procedencia del Códice Madrid
On two pages of the Maya hieroglyphic manuscript known as the Madrid Codex are found vestiges of European paper. Visible on one of those fragments are handwritten words in Latin and Spanish. Scholars first proposed that the European paper had been incorporated into the substrate of the Maya codex during manufacture, and that the codex was a post-conquest creation. A re-analysis of the codex has shown, however, that the European paper became adher…
