Open Access•Jung Woo Rhim, Jung-Woo Rhim et al.•ARTICLE•Children•2025

Inappropriate antibiotic use was primarily driven by fever and elevated C-reactive protein levels, which lacked sufficient diagnostic justification

  • Strategies for cultivating powerful knowledge using geospatial technologies at the secondary education level

    Minsung Kim•ARTICLE•Geography•2024

The purpose of this study is to develop geospatial technology-based teaching and learning strategies for cultivating powerful knowledge in geography. Utilising the theoretical framework of the five types of powerful geographical knowledge proposed by Maude (2016; 2018), strategies were designed to enhance each type of knowledge. • Promoting Civic Engagement Competence through Emotional Geography-Based Spatial Story Making in Community Participation Projects

    Minsung Kim•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography•2023

This study examined whether an emotional geography-based community participation project enhanced students’ civic engagement competence. A civic engagement competence questionnaire and reflective journals were used to examine the project’…

  • The pedagogical effects of psychogeographic urban exploration and mapping

    Minsung Kim•ARTICLE•Geography•2021

This article outlines research on incorporating the notion of psychogeography into an educational context in order to examine its pedagogical benefits empirically. The psychogeographic project implemented involved preservice (student) teachers in South Korea exploring urban space, reflecting on their experiences and creating psychogeographic maps. Based on a thematic analysis of the participants’ reflections, the findings are divided into three m…

  • Developing pre-service teachers’ fieldwork pedagogical and content knowledge through designing enquiry-based fieldwork

    Minsung Kim•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography in Higher…•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 9

Fieldwork is a signature pedagogy in geography with widely understood and diverse benefits. Yet relatively little research exists on how to prepare pre-service geography teachers to become effective fieldwork practitioners and educators. This study developed and examined the pedagogical benefits of a fieldwork education module aimed at promoting student teachers’ fieldwork pedagogical and content knowledge (FPACK) by equipping them to design thei…

    Minsung Kim•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography in Higher…•2017•Cited by: 2•References: 7

The paper investigates the effects of a project-based community participation course in which students chose research topics relevant to a local community. • Development of critical spatial thinking through GIS learning

Minsung Kim, Robert S Bednarz et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Geography in Higher…•2013•Cited by: 8•References: 7

This study developed an interview-based critical spatial thinking oral test and used the test to investigate the effects of Geographic Information System (GIS) learning on three components of critical spatial thinking: evaluating data reliability, exercising spatial reasoning, and assessing problem-solving validity. Thirty-two students at a large state university completed pre- and post-tests administered during the 2010 fall semester. This study…
