Adverse and positive childhood experiences with regard to emotional and intuitive eating styles in the national sample of Poles: A network analysis
Adverse and positive childhood experiences (ACEs and PCEs, respectively) are known to influence various health-related outcomes in adulthood, including eating behaviors. Emotional eating is considered a maladaptive eating style, whereas intuitive eating is perceived as an adaptive one. Understanding how ACEs and PCEs relate to these eating styles could inform targeted interventions. This study investigated the relationship between the types of AC…
Adjustment disorder, PTSD, and their predictors throughout the Covid-19 pandemic: Results from the longitudinal ESTSS Adjust study in Poland
Following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization ( 2020 ) recommended conducting a series of studies related to mental health in order to evaluate and understand people’s reactions to the pandemic in order to be better prepared for future disasters. Psychometric adaptation of the Comic Style Markers in a Polish sample
We attempted a psychometric validation of a Polish-language version of the Comic Style Markers questionnaire (CSM). A sample of 1785 adult Polish participants completed a Polish translation of the CSM (CSM-PL), the HSQ, and the IPIP-BFM-20. A self-other correlation analysis was carried out on 116 Polish university students. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses of several models have shown a six-factor, 33-item solution to have good model …
Adverse childhood experiences and diet quality in the national sample of Poles: The mediating role of emotion regulation
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) increase the risk of adverse psychological and physical outcomes and chronic disease in adulthood. The mechanism of this relationship is still unclear. ACEs might exert their negative influence on adult health via both dietary and psychological axes. Our study aimed to examine the relationship between ACEs and diet quality in the national sample of Poles. We also aimed to determine whether difficulty in regula…
Successful patenting—not only how, but with whom: The importance of patent attorneys
The role of patent attorneys is usually overlooked in empirical analyses of patents. Using a large dataset of Polish patent applications, 2006–2015, and the econometric model of logistic regression with interactions, the article identifies factors contributing to the successful patenting outcomes. Patents are more likely to be granted for applications filed by multiple applicants, particularly if a scientific organization is involved. Industry, r…

This study was conducted on a group of 60 randomly selected representatives of companies operating in Poland. A structured interview consisting of 32 question…
Consumer trust in the food value chain and its impact on consumer confidence: A model for assessing consumer trust and evidence from a 5-country study in Europe
In order to measure consumer trust in food chain actors and its impact on consumer confidence in food and the technology with which it has been produced, a model was developed relating social trust, beliefs in trustworthiness, overall trust in food chain actors, and confidence in both the supply of food products and food technologies. Data were collected via an online survey in five European countries. Analysis provided support for the model and …
