Healthy but hazy? Consumers’ understanding of the healthiness and nutritional value of food groups
Food-based dietary guidelines aim at promoting healthy dietary choices. Poor adherence has been partially explained by a lack of nutrition knowledge. Yet, little attention has been paid to the specific understanding of the referenced food groups, which is however essential to translate guidelines into practice. In this study, we therefore investigated people's understanding of food groups via their food choices as a rection to dietary prompts (ty…
It is Monday again
The weekend constitutes an important recovery period for employees. However, psychologically reattaching to work on Monday can be difficult because employees must transition from their private to their work role. Building on boundary theory and integrating a sleep and circadian perspective, we shed light on this transition by investigating antecedents and outcomes of Monday reattachment. We propose that three weekend sleep characteristics differe…
Mind the misalignment
Circadian processes are important for employees and organizations yet have been relatively underexplored in recovery research. Thus, we embed the concept of circadian misalignment into the recovery literature by investigating the moderating role of employees' daily social sleep lag (i.e., a discrepancy between employees' actual and biologically preferred sleep–wake times) in their recovery processes. Building on the effort‐recovery model and a ci…
Emotion regulation as a transdiagnostic factor in Afghan refugees
The findings indicate that emotion regulation may be a transdiagnostic key factor contributing to symptoms of different mental disorders as well as social impairment in trauma-exposed refugees. It highlights the need and potential directions for transdiagnostic interventions that target these difficulties. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2020 APA, all rights reserved)
