  • Central city construction and urban land green utilization efficiency

Open Access•Yao Xiao, Qingshen Kong et al.•ARTICLE•Humanities and Social Sciences…•2026

Central city construction (CCC) functions as an important policy instrument for facilitating China’s green transformation, while urban agglomerations serve as the primary spatial carriers of this process. In the context of low land utilization efficiency and environmental pressure, this study examines how CCC influences urban land green utilization efficiency (ULGUE) within urban agglomerations (UAs). Using panel data from 2006 to 2021 for 213 ci…

  • The evaluation and enhancement strategies of core competencies for older adult caregivers in integrated medical and older adult care institutions

Open Access•Chao Rong, Qun-Hong Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Public Health•2024

The study aimed to understand the main skills of older adult caregivers and find ways to improve these skills. We selected participants using a method called random cluster sampling, where caregivers from 17 different medical and nursing care facilities across seven districts in Hangzhou were chosen. We collected 492 valid questionnaires and conducted interviews with 150 people. To analyze the data, we used T -tests and Analysis of Variance (ANOV…

  • How is agricultural water efficiency affected by the digital economy? Insights from China

Open Access•Ming Chang, Fei Li et al.•ARTICLE•Water Policy•2024

With the continued advancement of digital technology, the digital economy will gradually become the primary economic form in the future, having a profound impact on a variety of industries, including agriculture. Agriculture is a major source of global water use, and efficient water use in agriculture is critical to coping with water scarcity and ensuring food security. This study used publicly available data from 30 Chinese provinces from 2006 t…

Open Access•Yuxia Zhao, Yang Wang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

This paper investigates the impact of land use/cover type changes in the Haideigou open-pit coal mine on the evolution of the landscape patterns and ecological and environmental quality in the mine area, based on medium- and high-resolution remote sensing images in 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021 using ArcGIS 10.5, Fragstats 4.2, and the Google Earth Engine platform. The results show that: (1) From 2006 to 2021, the area of cropland and waste dumps in…

  • Demographic aspects of lactation and postpartum amenorrhea

    Open Access•Anrudh K Jain, T C Hsu et al.•ARTICLE•Demography•1970•Cited by: 26•References: 9

Interrelations between lactation and post-partum amenorrhea are studied from the reports of about 5,000 married women included in a 1966 Follow-up Survey of Acceptors of an Intrauterine Device (IUD) in Taiwan. The length of post-partum amenorrhea and of breastfeeding are positively associated. On an average, breastfeeding delayed the resumption of menstruation by about 7 months. The association between lactation and amenorrhea is not accounted fo…
