Parents’ family harmony values and parent-adolescent relationship quality
This study of 318 families examined how family harmony values relate to marital satisfaction and parent–adolescent relationship quality. Overall, harmony values undergo intergenerational transmission and influence parent–child bonds through the mediating role of marital satisfaction. Specifically: (1) both parents’ values positively predict those of adolescents, with parental similarity moderating the mother–adolescent link; (2) mothers’ values p…
The longitudinal relationship between filial piety, gratitude and national identity
Within the framework of traditional Chinese interpersonal construct theory, the doctrine of ‘transferring filial piety to loyalty’ (移孝为忠) is conceptualised, whereby filial devotion operates through a gratitude‐driven mechanism to engender national identity. However, in contemporary society, shifting social structures and evolving value systems have introduced inherent complexities to this linkage, sparking ongoing scholarly debate and necessitati…

Triglyceride glucose-body mass index and the risk of progression to diabetes from prediabetes
Objective: Evidence regarding the relationship between the triglyceride glucose-body mass index (TyG-BMI) and the risk of progression from prediabetes to diabetes remains limited. Our study aimed to investigate the relationship between them in patients with prediabetes. Methods: In this retrospective cohort study, data were collected from 25,279 patients with prediabetes who received health checks between 2010 and 2016. We used a Cox proportional…

Critical Factors of Promoting Design for Safety in China’s Subway Engineering Industry
DfS (design for safety) can significantly reduce the engineering safety risk, decreasing the economic and social losses caused by safety accidents. To introduce DfS in China's subway engineering, and with the help of a literature review and semi-structured expert interview, this study sorted out 28 promoting factors (including policy environment, practice, guidelines and tools, and education four categories) and seven impediment factors to DfS im…
Identification of Potential Biomarkers and Related Transcription Factors in Peripheral Blood of Tuberculosis Patients
Tuberculosis (TB), one major threat to humans, can infect one third of the worldwide population, and cause more than one million deaths each year. This study aimed to identify the effective diagnosis and therapy biomarkers of TB. Hence, we analyzed two microarray datasets (GSE54992 and GSE62525) derived from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database to find the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) bet…
Exploring the Driving Factors of Construction Industrialization Development in China
Construction industrialization (CI) has been adopted worldwide because of its potential benefits. However, current research shows the incentives for adopting CI may differ in different regions. While the promotion of CI in China is still at the initial stage, a systematical analysis of the driving factors would help decision makers get a comprehensive understanding of CI development and select proper strategies to promote CI. This research combin…
Using Interpretative Structural Modeling to Identify Critical Success Factors for Safety Management in Subway Construction
With the rapid development of urbanization in China, a vast number of subway projects are under construction and planned in many cities. However, the complexities of the environment in subway construction inherently bring about many uncertainties and risk factors. Understanding the inherent properties of the critical success factors (CSFs) will contribute significantly to the subway construction. From this perspective, this paper aims to identify…
