Examining curriculum materials utilization
Introduction This study investigates an often-overlooked aspect of language teaching: the use of cultural content in a coursebook. Methods The research includes analysis of teaching materials, interviews, and classroom observations of two senior high school English teachers. Using Remillard’s participatory framework, the study explores the complex relationship between teacher knowledge and practice in managing cultural content in coursebooks. It …
Dual targeting by Artemisia rupestris L. disrupting TLR4/NF-κB signaling and macrophage driven immune evasion in hepatocellular carcinoma
ARL suppresses HCC progression by dual mechanisms that include the interference in TLR4/MyD88/NF-κB cascade to reduce proinflammatory cytokine production, and reprogramming macrophage polarization to attenuate immune driven tumor growth. These findings make ARL a promising natural therapeutic agent and provide an experimental basis for further in-depth subsequent exploration of the application of ARL in hepatocellular carcinoma
Supplementation with Lycium barbarum glycopeptide (LbGP) rescues the quality of aged oocytes
Exploring Developmental Trajectories for English Language Teachers
While an expanding body of evidence emerged recommending that teachers stay engaged with the professional learning communities (PLCs) to enhance career development, scant attention has been given to exploring the relationship between teacher agency and their professional commitment to PLCs. To bridge this gap, the current study aims to uncover teachers’ views on community practices and the enabling and restraining factors that influenced their en…
Spatial–temporal effects of industrial pollutants and economic development on depopulation in the mega urban agglomeration
The negative effects of industrial pollutants on the whole environment have long been a contentious issue in urbanization. While studies have analyzed the impacts of the economy and industry on depopulation separately, few focus on their combined and interactive effects at the grid level. This study investigates the complex impacts of depopulation from 2010 to 2020 in China's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei agglomeration. Using remote-sensing and geoinform…
An investigation into the influence of gender on crowd exit selection in indoor evacuation
Trend and projection of the prevalence and burden of near vision loss in China and globally from 1990 to 2030
Background: Few studies have investigated near vision loss (NVL) in China. To address this gap, we aimed to explore trends in the prevalence and disease burden of NVL from 1990 to 2019 and to predict trends over the next decade. Methods: Using data from the Global Burden of Disease 2019 study, we calculated the age-standardised prevalence rate (ASPR), age-specific disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), and annual percentage change (EAPC) in Chin…
How Do Information Sources Influence the Purchases of Tourism, Culture, and Entertainment? An Analysis of China Family Panel Studies Data
Information sources affect people’s tourism, culture, and entertainment buying. It is therefore important to study the apportionment effects by information source type and comprehensively analyze how information sources positively or negatively impact the consumption of tourism, culture, and entertainment. This research analyzed the influence of four information sources on such buying based on data from the China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) from …
Exploring the molecular mechanism of Artemisia rupestris L. for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma via PI3K/AKT pathway
Viola yedoensis Makino alleviates heat stress-induced inflammation, oxidative stress, and cell apoptosis in the spleen and thymus of broilers
This study showed that the addition of VYM to the diet could inhibit oxidative stress and apoptosis, and reduce the inflammatory damage of heat stress on the spleen and thymus of broilers. This study provides a basis for further exploring the regulatory role of VYM in heat stress-induced immune imbalance in broilers. In addition, this study also provides a theoretical basis for the development of VYM as a feed additive with immunomodulatory effec…

Effects of tourism CSR on employee psychological capital in the Covid-19 crisis
The main purpose of this research was to illustrate how companies contributed to employee psychological capital in tourism during the COVID-19 crisis based on the conservation of resources theory (CoR). Psychological capital including self-efficacy, hope, resilience and optimism is a key source of support at work, especially during challenging events. With threats to health and job security, employee psychological capital was unlikely to recover …
Impacts of Environmental Regulations on Tourism Carbon Emissions
This research analyzed the impact of environmental regulations and their power in suppressing tourism carbon emissions. The results showed that: (1) four types of environmental regulations had significant inhibiting effects on tourism carbon emissions, but different types of regulations had varying effects; and (2) environmental regulations had a significant time lag effect on tourism carbon emissions. The decay rates of the environmental regulat…
