Open Access•Jian Zhou, Jinlan Li et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Western China faces ongoing challenges in enhancing its PTB treatment capacity and should prioritize the promotion of FDC therapy. Risk factors that influence treatment outcomes for PTB include male gender, advanced age, belonging to the Miao ethnic group, occupation as a farmer, etiological positivity, retreatment status, and comorbidities such as diabetes and HIV/AIDS. Further investigation is warranted to explore the disparities in successful …

  • Job creation or disruption? Unraveling the effects of smart city construction on corporate employment in China

Open Access•Yuqiang Cao, Yong Hu et al.•ARTICLE•Technological Forecasting and…•2023

Previous literature on smart city construction (SCC) has mainly focused on its economic and environmental benefits while largely overlooking its potential adverse consequences, especially on microeconomic units. Using China's SCC pilots as a quasi-natural experiment, this study examines the impact of SCC on corporate hiring decisions and finds that SCC adversely impacts corporate employment. The mechanism analysis suggests that SCC affects corpor…

  • Oleate Impacts on Acetoclastic and Hydrogenotrophic Methanogenesis under Mesophilic and Thermophilic Conditions

Open Access•Xiang Li, Yang Yang et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2023

This study investigated oleate inhibition concentration on mesophilic and thermophilic sludge by utilizing acetate and H 2 /CO 2 (80:20, v / v ) as substrate, respectively. In addition, another batch experiment was carried out to explore the influence of oleate loads (mM-oleate/g-VS) on methane production. Generally, the mesophilic anaerobic system was more stable than the thermophilic system, which embodied higher microbial abundance, higher met…
