A Figured Terracotta Incense Burner from the Southern Necropolis of Parion
This study examines a figured terracotta object with an upper receptacle recovered from a child burial (Grave ATM 1) in the Southern Necropolis of Parion, dated to the late first century BCE–early first century CE on the basis of associated grave goods, including an Augustan bronze coin. The object was documented through controlled photogrammetry, colour-calibrated imaging, axial mirroring, and targeted pigment visualization. These procedures imp…
The Impacts of Syrian Refugees on Natives’ Health Outcomes
This paper examines the causal effects of the massive Syrian refugee inflow on natives’ health outcomes using data from the Turkish Income and Living Conditions Survey. We address endogeneity issues raised by refugees’ location preferences by implementing a two-stage least squares estimation method using a distance-based instrument. We find that the refugee inflow improved the health of high-skilled and employed males, whereas the effects on low-…

This paper investigates the causal effects of grandmothers' geographical proximity on labour supply decisions of married women with young children by leveraging a novel data set from Turkey. We deal with the reverse causality and endogeneity problems arising from mothers' and grandmothers' joint location and labour supply decisions by implementing a two‐stage least squares estimation method using the number of alive grandmothers as an instrument.…
