The indices of communication and discrimination as measures of empathy
The potential of the Indices of Communication and Discrimination in filling a need for a measure of characteristic empathic behaviour is discussed in relation to data on rater reliability and score consistency and stability. On the basis of the results presented, it is concluded that the Indices could be expanded to yield a satisfactory measure of characteristic empathy
