Mission archéologique de Madain Salih (Arabie Saoudite)
This contribution presents the preliminary results of the Madain Salih archaeological project, which started in 2001 and which, in December 2004, completed its fourth field season. The aims of this five‐year project are a systematic recording of the archaeological remains at the site as well as an analysis of its agricultural potential. The former include not only the tombs, sanctuaries, wells, quarries, walls, buildings, etc., but also the inscr…
Le développement urbain de Bosra de l’époque nabatéenne à l’époque byzantine
The town planning of the earlier Bosra is not yet precisely known, even though some Bronze Age structures (W. and S.-W. city-wall) and artefacts have been recently found in the western part and in the center of the Graeco-Roman city. Like a hinge, the Nabataean arch complex links the main E.-W. street with the Ist century ad eastern nabataean district, of which the cross-ruled orientation is different. In the main streets of the Roman city center…
Une porte (?) sur le rempart septentrional du castrum de Tours. Prospection géophysique / A gate (?) on the northern city wall of the castrum at Tours. Geophysical survey
A soil conductivity survey, carried out on the northern side of the Late-Roman city wall of Tours, on the East side of Rue des Maures, brought to light an important contrast of resistivity which may be the result of a large gap in the Late-Roman fortification wall. Placed on the main axis of the amphitheatre and on the line of the wooden structures discovered in the Loire riverbed, that contrast could confirm the reality of a Roman City Gate, ske…

Méthodes de prospections appliquées sur le site mégalithique de Changé à Saint-Piat (Eure-et-Loir) / Survey techniques used at the megalithic site at change (Saint-Piat, Eure-et-Loir)
A variety of complementary survey techniques (aerial, resistivity, close-contour and magnetometer) have been brought to bear on the megalithic funerary site of Changé at Saint-Piat (Eure-et-Loir), with the aim of understanding its extent and its paleogeographic environment. They show that the site was carefully selected and laid out during the neolithic period
