  • (In)Definite Articles, Mass-Count Distinction, and Agglutinated Consonants in Mississippi Gulf Coast French

Encodés lexicalement, ces segments s’agglutinent à l’i…

  • Locality domains on Lenition. Spirantization (Gorgia) and Voicing in Tuscan dialects1

    Michela Russo•ARTICLE•Linx•2022

This article investigates the diachronic and synchronic relation between Tuscan lenition (Voicing) and spirantization (Gorgia) of voiceless Latin stops, both processes are postvocalic/lenition processes. Firstly, we set out to examine the conditions peculiar to Romance lenition (Voicing) of Latin voiceless stops from Medieval Tuscan to modern dialects. Secondly, Tuscan lenition/Voicing is compared to the local later Florentine–Senese spirantizati…

    Michela Russo•ARTICLE•Linx•2022•References: 4

  • Tu l’as vu ? [tyllavy]

    Michela Russo, Laure Sahmaoui•ARTICLE•Linx•2021•References: 30

[tyllavy] (français standard Tu l’as vu?

  • Initial lenition and strength alternations (v/b) in Neapolitan

    Open Access•Michela Russo, Shanti Úlfsbjörninn•ARTICLE•Glossa a journal of general…•2020

In Central and Southern Italian dialects, the word-initial position plays host to a large number of strength-based alternations involving voiced stops. In this paper we look specifically at the v/b pair in Neapolitan. Strikingly, the absolute initial position appears to be weak with the voiced stop patterning phonologically like a singleton in word-medial position (v). After a variety of morphemes however, roots surface with the strong version of…
