Unmanned aerial vehicles in prehospital emergency care
Background: Timely prehospital intervention is essential for improving patient outcomes, yet conventional ambulance-based systems often face delays in remote, congested, or disaster-affected settings. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) offer a novel, traffic-independent solution with high operational flexibility and rapid deployment capacity. This review aims to summarize current evidence, technological progress, and future challenges of UAVs applic…
How Does Population Aging Affect Farmland Abandonment? An Inverted U‐Shaped Relationship From the Large‐Scale Survey Data in China
Population aging has always been considered a driving force for farmland abandonment, which aggravates global food insecurity. However, using big survey data from 11,750 rural households across China, an inverted U‐shaped change was found regarding the relationship between them with the extreme point of aging rate around 27%. Before the aging rate reaches its extreme point, it positively promoted the abandonment of arable land. After this point, …
Deep learning-based research on cultural symbols in few-shot destination social media images
In the digital age, cultural heritage sites utilise social media imagery for marketing. Nevertheless, existing research reveals two gaps: the scarcity of methods for accurately identifying multi-cultural element fusion in images under few-shot conditions; and the difficulty in quantifying their collective impact on user behaviour, which limits data-driven content strategy optimisation. Grounded in destination image theory and symbolic consumption…
What’s in a (First) Name? Personized Advertising Messages Enhance Consumer Perceived Ethicality
Despite the significance of consumer perceived ethicality (CPE) in the current business world, it remains unclear how companies can foster CPE among consumers. The present research investigates the potential of personizing a stakeholder (e.g., an employee or a supplier) by incorporating the person’s first name in advertising messages. Across four experimental studies, this research shows how personized advertising messages can increase CPE when c…
Dynamic characteristics of a Covid-19 outbreak in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, China
Objectives Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) lineage B.1.617.2 (also named the Delta variant) was declared as a variant of concern by the World Health Organization (WHO). This study aimed to describe the outbreak that occurred in Nanjing city triggered by the Delta variant through the epidemiological parameters and to understand the evolving epidemiology of the Delta variant. Methods We collected the data of all COVID-1…
Can Industrial Collaborative Agglomeration Reduce Haze Pollution? City-Level Empirical Evidence from China
We analyze the mechanism for industrial co-agglomeration in Chinese 283 cities to affect haze pollution from 2003 to 2016 and examine the possible mediating effects of urbanization and energy structure between haze pollution and industrial co-agglomeration, finally obtaining the following results. First, industrial co-agglomeration and haze pollution across China, including central and eastern regions keep a typical inverted U-shaped curve relati…
Resources and Environment Carrying Capacity, Social Development and Their Decoupling Relationship
With the rapid urbanization in recent decades, resource shortage and environmental damage have hindered the process of urban sustainable development (SD). As a yardstick of sustainable development, the evaluation of resources and environment carrying capacity (RECC) and its decoupling relationship with social comprehensive development index (SCDI) are of great significance. In this paper, RECC and SCDI are taken as research objects to establish r…
Research on Urban Spatial Connection and Network Structure of Urban Agglomeration in Yangtze River Delta—Based on the Perspective of Information Flow
Exploration of urban spatial connections and network structures of urban agglomeration in the Yangtze River Delta, as well as its influencing factors, is of great significance regarding optimization of the development pattern of the Yangtze River Delta urban agglomeration and promotion of regional high-quality development. Therefore, based on Baidu index data in 2015 and 2019, this paper first analyzes the spatiotemporal variation characteristics…
