Osseous Variants of the Cervical Spine with Potential Pathological Significance
The vertebral arteries supply blood to the upper spinal cord, brainstem, cerebellum, and posterior part of the brain. These arteries are susceptible to deformation from external factors such as muscular, ligamentous, or bony structures, and any interruption of blood flow may result in vertebrobasilar insufficiency. Among the osseous variants of the cervical spine with potential pathological significance, variations in the number, shape, and size …
Cervical rib in a young individual from the late medieval cemetery of Corfinio (12th–13th century CE, Italy)
Cervical ribs constitute the most important variants among ribs, particularly because of their proximity to the brachial plexus nerve network and subclavian artery. Cervical ribs are not uncommon in the catalogue of anatomic abnormalities in modern medicine, but few cases have been reported fr…
Finestre parlanti. A proposito di alcune finestre con iscrizioni da chiese abruzzesi di età medieval

Clemente al Vomano, S. Sisto a L'Aquila). The inscriptions were made at the time of the construction of the buildings and were placed on windows located in the apses or close to the presbyterial area. In such positions they were in close relationship wit…
GIS of the chora of Cyrene
The project of mapping the chora of Cyrene, for the team of Chieti University, started between 1999 and 2001 as a layer of a ‘macro-GIS’ of the area to the east of Cyrene, that is, the transect between Cyrene and El-Gubba/Qubbah. Because of the large scale of the area and the monumentality of the sites, the team is composed of several research units based around a large number of scholars and technicians. The project employs a suite of traditiona…
