  • The long-run evolution of city size distribution in China

Open Access•Xiaojun Zhong, Chuhong Ding et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2026

  • Differential impacts of physical activity volume and intensity on blood lead levels in children and adolescents

Open Access•Shengrong Ouyang, Yan Yin et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Our findings support a dual-pathway model: greater PA volume may elevate BLL-particularly in males-while higher intensity may reduce BLL-especially in females. These results underscore the need for PA guidelines that balance volume and intensity, optimize sweat-promoting exercise in low-lead environments, and inform interventions to safeguard the health of children and adolescents against lead exposure

  • Reallocation of time to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity and estimated changes in physical fitness among preschoolers

Open Access•Zhaoxu Lu, Jin Guo et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

Our findings reinforce the importance of physical activity (PA) intensity for the development of physical fitness in preschoolers. Replacing LPA or SB time with MVPA may be an appropriate strategy for enhancing preschoolers' physical fitness

  • Study on the anti-skin aging effect and mechanism of Sijunzi Tang based on network pharmacology and experimental validation

Open Access•Hui Ke, Xingjiang Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2024

  • Does energy poverty trap exist in Chinese cities? Evidence from evaluating the co-evolution of energy consumption and income

Open Access•Neng Hao, Bo Peng et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2024•Cited by: 2•References: 90

  • Explorating the mechanism of Huangqin Tang against skin lipid accumulation through network pharmacology and experimental validation

Open Access•Kaile Zong, Kewei Xu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2023

  • Urban growth and aggregate growth in China

Open Access•Ning Ma, Yanrui Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Cities•2021•Cited by: 3•References: 6

  • Evolution of carbon dioxide emissions in Chinese cities

Tsun Se Cheong, Yanrui Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy•2016•References: 1

The aim of this paper is to examine the transitional dynamics of carbon dioxide emission in China by using a prefecture-level database. Convergence analysis is conducted and mobility probability plots (MPPs) are employed to examine the distribution dynamics of 286 cities from 2002 to 2011. The empirical investigation is conducted in three steps. In the first step, the research is carried out at the national level, and it provides an overall view …

  • The greenness of Chinese cities

Jianxin Wu, Yanrui Wu et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy•2016•References: 3

This paper investigates carbon dioxide (CO2) emission and its determinants in 286 Chinese cities. The findings strongly support an inverted U-shaped relationship between per capita CO2 emission (PCE) and urban development. However, the realization of this relationship depends on stringent governmental policy interventions. The regression analysis in this paper shows that city size is positively correlated with CO2 emission efficiency, but negativ…

  • Maternal serum vitamin B 12 , folate and homocysteine and the risk of neural tube defects in the offspring in a high-risk area of China

Open Access•Ting Zhang, Ruolei Xin et al.•ARTICLE•Public Health Nutrition•2009

Objective To examine the association between the risk of neural tube defects (NTD) and maternal serum vitamin B 12 , folate and homocysteine in a high-risk area of China. Design A case–control study was carried out in Luliang mountain area of Shanxi Province. Subjects/setting A total of eighty-four NTD pregnancies and 110 matched controls were included in the study; their serum vitamin B 12 and folate concentrations were measured by chemiluminesc…

  • Tetrandrine inhibits activation of rat hepatic stellate cells stimulated by transforming growth factor-β in vitro via up-regulation of Smad 7

Open Access•Yuan-wen Chen, Yuanwen Chen et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Ethnopharmacology•2005
