Caregiving, maternal burnout, and child dysregulation
Objective This research validated the Italian version of the 40‐item Caregiving Experiences Questionnaire (CEQ) by examining its factor structure and associations with maternal burnout and child dysregulation. Background Caregiving representations shape parental behavior and influence child development. Existing measures are resource intensive, limiting accessibility. The CEQ offers a practical self‐report alternative, but its validation remains …
Co-occurrence of symptoms of substance and behavioral addictions over time
Restless minds, restless nights
A School-Based Intervention Program to Reduce Weight Stigma in Adolescents
These findings suggest that incorporating cognitive dissonance-based psychoeducational content within school-based programs may be a promising approach for reducing internalized weight stigma in adolescents. Further research is warranted to refine intervention strategies, explore the mechanisms underlying the observed effects, and assess the scalability and long-term impact of such initiatives in school settings
I don’t know-responses in the international trauma questionnaire caregiver-version
The patterns of IDK underline the necessity of implementing this response option to provide clinicians with insights on important areas of psychoeducation for caregivers
Parental burnout and reflective functioning in regretful parents
This study examined the psychological profiles of parents through a person-centered approach, focusing on levels of parenthood regret, parental burnout, and parental reflective functioning (PRF). It further explored the associations between these profiles and experiences of childhood maltreatment as well as child dysregulation. The sample comprised 1,994 cisgender heterosexual parents residing in Italy ( M age = 42.24, SD = 7.15; 85.61% mothers),…
Orthorexia nervosa and psychosocial impairment from a multidimensional perspective
Factor Structure, Construct Validity, and Measurement Invariance of the Neuroception of Psychological Safety Scale (NPSS)
Psychological safety has recently emerged as a central construct, strictly implicated in mental health and emotional well-being. The Neuroception of Psychological Safety Scale (NPSS) is the first scale designed to assess feelings of psychological safety from a multidimensional perspective. However, the robustness of its factorial structure requires further examination in large community samples, and evidence of construct validity along with measu…
A psychometric examination of the cognitive flexibility scale and its association with Orthorexia Nervosa
The CFS demonstrated to be a psychometrically robust instrument in the Italian context. Moreover, cognitive flexibility may be an important treatment target for mitigating the distress derived from ON symptoms, informing the development of future therapeutic approaches
Psychological Counseling among University Students Worldwide
University counseling services (UCSs) are actively involved in mental health assessment and in supplying interventions aimed at preventing, facing and possibly overcoming psychological problems. However, we do not have a global overview of psychological counseling among universities. This systematic review aims at reviewing the literature on university psychological counseling, including articles documenting: (1) mental health and attitudes regar…
Bullying Victimization and Adolescent Depression, Anxiety and Stress
The findings provide additional support for the detrimental role of bullying victimization on mental distress, also suggesting that this effect is not only direct, but indirect is well. These results are particularly relevant in light of the absence of mediation by protective factors such as the use of positive emotion regulation strategies
Differential Associations of Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies with Depression, Anxiety, and Insomnia in Adolescence and Early Adulthood
While difficulties with emotion regulation (ER) are consistently linked to poor mental health in adulthood, findings in adolescence have been more mixed. Cognitive ER strategies, which involve the ability to manage emotions through mental processes, may be particularly important during different stages of development due to age-specific adjustments. We conducted two exploratory and cross-sectional studies to examine the relationships between cogn…
