  • Patterns and dynamics of conflict-related sexual violence

Open Access•Abisola Esther Babatope, Oluyemi Adewole Okunlola et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal for Equity…•2025

CRSV in Africa is widespread and patterned by conflict dynamics and perpetrator type. These findings call for the strengthening of survivor-centered policy responses, improved data systems, and legal accountability mechanisms to address CRSV as a barrier to peace and development

  • Bayesian hierarchical spatial ecological model assessing the nexus of vegetation index, insecticide-treated bed-nets and livestock cattle density on lymphatic filariasis transmission

Open Access•Oluyemi Adewole Okunlola, Dorcas Modupe Okewole et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

Lymphatic filariasis (LF) remains endemic in Nigeria, exhibiting pronounced spatial heterogeneity. This study employed Bayesian spatio-temporal modelling with a beta-binomial likelihood and a modified Besag-York-Mollie (BYM) random effect on national data from 2013, 2015, 2018, and 2021. It assessed ecological and intervention drivers of LF transmission. Results identified persistent high-risk clusters (RR > 2.25) in northern (Zamfara, Kano, Plat…

  • Spatial variation of intimate partner violence and its public health implication

Open Access•Abisola Esther Babatope, Demilade Olusola Ibirongbe et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2025

The study identified communities in Nigeria with higher probability of intimate partner violence (IPV). These communities should be priortised for targeted intervention, also it is recommended that laws on IPV should be strengthened at national and regional levels
