Zhanhu Zhao, Guang TONG et al.•ARTICLE•Prehistoric Archaeology•2025

  • Mining Multiplatform Opinions During Public Health Crisis: A Comparative Study

Open Access•Kun Sun, Tian-Fang Zhao et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2024

Emerging infectious diseases pose a growing threat to human society and have sparked extensive public discussions on social media. Although numerous efforts have been made in health data mining on social media, there is a lack of focus on quantitative comparisons across multiple platforms, despite their crucial role in the holistic social communication system. This study addresses this gap by developing a generalized regression model that conside…

  • Perceived Sargassum event incidence, impacts, and management response in the Caribbean Basin

    Open Access•Ken Hamel, Carlos García‐quijano et al.•ARTICLE•Marine Policy•2024

Sargassum events have been an increasingly influential phenomenon in the Caribbean region in recent years, with correspondingly growing attention from news and social media, the scientific community, and policy makers. To better understand the human effects of Sargassum events, an online survey of 633 community members, resource users, and government and NGO staff from across the Caribbean Basin was conducted in the summer and fall of 2021. Resul…

  • Applying environmental DNA approaches to inform marine biodiversity conservation: The case of the Ocean Twilight Zone

Open Access•Nina Yang, Di Jin et al.•ARTICLE•Marine Policy•2024

Effective governance of the global ocean under accelerating environmental and social changes depends on sufficient scientific knowledge that unravels the complexity of dynamic marine ecosystems. In the case of the vast and remote ocean twilight zone (OTZ), management is particularly challenged by the lack of data. Traditional biodiversity monitoring methods are unable to scale efficiently or effectively to address these knowledge gaps and new tec…

  • Learning Distinct Relationship in Package Recommendation With Graph Attention Networks

Open Access•Wei Lu, Nan Jiang et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2023

Recommendation systems have been widely developed and extensively used in various websites and platforms to promote products or services to interested users. However, in quite a few sale scenarios, the platform has the necessity to display users a series of items, which is called package recommendation. There is very little research in this area. This article develops a novel and realistic package recommendation system named package graph attenti…

  • Deep Learning for Text Style Transfer: A Survey

    Open Access•Di Jin, Zhijing Jin et al.•ARTICLE•Computational Linguistics•2021•References: 8

Text style transfer is an important task in natural language generation, which aims to control certain attributes in the generated text, such as politeness, emotion, humor, and many others. It has a long history in the field of natural language processing, and recently has re-gained significant attention thanks to the promising performance brought by deep neural models. In this article, we present a systematic survey of the research on neural tex…
