Open Access•Tanimola Makanjuola Akande, Tanimola Akande et al.•ARTICLE•Health Policy and Planning•2026•References: 7

Globally, an estimated 22.7 million children are unimmunized or ‘zero-dose’ (ZD), with 3.1 million in Nigeria. • Hypertension prevalence, awareness, treatment, and control and predicted 10-year CVD risk

Open Access•Samson Okello, Alfa Muhihi et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2020

In seven communities in east and west Africa, a quarter of participants had hypertension, about 40% were unaware, half of those aware were treated, and half of those treated had controlled blood pressure. The 10-year predicted CVD risk was low across sites. Access to health insurance is needed to improve awareness, treatment, and control of hypertension in sub-Saharan Africa

The importance of measuring the accuracy and consistency of research instruments (especially questionnaires) known as validity and reliability, respectively, have been documented in several studies, but their measure is not commonly carried out among health and social science researchers in developing countries. This has been linked to the dearth of knowledge of these tests. This is a review article which comprehensively explores and describes th…

Open Access•Marleen Elisabeth Hendriks, Piyali Kundu et al.•ARTICLE•Global Health Action•2014

BACKGROUND: Disease-specific costing studies can be used as input into cost-effectiveness analyses and provide important information for efficient resource allocation. However, limited data availability and limited expertise constrain such studies in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). OBJECTIVE: To describe a step-by-step guideline for conducting disease-specific costing studies in LMICs where data availability is limited and to illustrate…
