Open Access•Krisztián Kiss, Aniko Kecskes et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologiai Közlemények•2026

Background: Aquincum as the capital of Pannonia Inferior was once part of the Roman Empire. The human population here was a mixture of romanized autochton tribes and immigrants from across the Empire. Besides the civic and military towns, multiple villa estates were discovered by archaeologists in this area. One example for the latter is Csucshegy-Harsanylejto (3rd–4th centuries CE) where a grave group of 13 individuals were found directly next t…

Absztrakt A tanulmány a Győr-Kálvária összevont lelőhelyen feltárt húsz csontvázas és két hamvasztásos késő vaskori kelta temetkezésből előkerült emberi maradványok klasszikus embertani és makroszkópos paleopatológiai eredményeit mutatja be

  • Paleoradiological tests in Hungary and abroad

    Open Access•Krisztián Kiss, Csilla Líbor•ARTICLE•Hungarian Archaeology•2022

Although anthropology and archaeology have often taken separate paths, publications in recent years have demonstrated the importance of working together in these two areas to draw the right conclusions. At the same time, such projects also involve archaeozoologists, physicists, geneticists, and even radiologists. Imaging methods have been used in the study of the past since the nineteenth century. With them, we can examine not only human or anima…

Nők esetén a mortalitási görbe kb. 30 éves korban, míg férfiak esetén kb. 40 éves korban csúcsoso…

Open Access•Tamás Szeniczey, Antónia Marcsik et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of…•2019

  • Kehida-Fövenyes 8–9. századi népességének történeti embertani vizsgálata

Open Access•Krisztián Kiss, Tamás Szeniczey et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologiai Közlemények•2019

In our work, 167 individuals from the Late Avar Period cemetery of Kehida-Fövenyes (8–9th century) were analysed. Altogether 65 children, 36 males and 50 females were examined, however in the case of 16 adults the sex determination was not possible. The newborn age group (0–1 year) is underrepresented in the cemetery. A biological imbalance can be observed between the ratio of males and females. According to the demographic data and pathological …
