Non-invasive methods for characterising letterpress prints: Surface microscopy and profilometry
Characterisation of letterpress prints through non-invasive analysis. • Morphological comparison between prints from different periods. • 3D techniques for analysing type-form relief. • Useful tool for conservation, restoration, and cataloguing. • Supports dating and authentication of letterpress cultural heritage. This study presents a methodological framework for characterising letterpress prints by combining morphological analysis with three-d…
New insights into the chronology of the Les Ferreres Aqueduct (Tarragona, Spain) by combining petrographic analyses and OSL dating on lime mortars
Sidi Zahruni, una alfarería en el ager de Neapolis (Túnez): Aglomeración o vicus circa villam
Sidi Zahruni, in the Neapolis ager (Tunisia), was known as a pottery workshop with an important production of late antique amphorae as well as a minor production of coarse ware and African Red Slip ware. An intra site survey, undertaken in 2012, allowed us to document a major extension of the site, evidence of a rich residential part and a monumental building. Evaluation of the data in contrast to others in the context of Tunisia has led us to th…
Determining the use of ancient ceramic artefacts through combined morphological and magnetic analyses: The case of Villa del Foro, Northern Italy
Archaeomagnetic study of a limekiln in the Les Ferreres Roman aqueduct, World Heritage Site of Tarraco
Comparison between different image acquisition methods for grain-size analysis and quantification of ceramic inclusions by digital image processing: How Much Similar Are the Results
Investigating the expected archaeomagnetic dating precision in Europe: A temporal and spatial analysis based on the SCHA.DIF.3K geomagnetic field model
Using archaeomagnetism to improve the dating of three sites in Catalonia (NE Spain)
New Archaeomagnetic Data from Tunisia: Dating of Two Kilns and New Archaeointensities from Three Ceramic Artifacts
Two isolated kilns of unknown age and three well‐dated artifacts from Tunisia have been investigated using archaeomagnetic techniques. Dating has been attempted for the kilns and archaeomagnetic intensities have been obtained for the artifacts. The kilns lack datable artifacts although one of them (Sidi Zahruni) could be related to a nearby late Roman site. Comparison with the SCHA.DIF.3K regional geomagnetic model suggests for both kilns two pos…
Provenance and reference groups of African Red Slip ware based on statistical analysis of chemical data and REE
Archaeometric dating of two limekilns in an industrial heritage site in Calders (Catalonia, NE Spain)
Archaeomagnetic study and dating at five sites from Catalonia (NE Spain)
Archaeological and archaeomagnetic dating at a site from the ager Tarraconensis (Tarragona, Spain): El Vila-sec Roman pottery
Provenance of marble sculptures from the National Museum of Carthage (Tunisia)
Archaeomagnetic data from four Roman sites in Tunisia
Archaeomagnetic data from three Punic sites in Tunisia
Archaeomagnetic dating of Dogmersfield Park brick kiln (Southern England)
