The sanctuary of the Nymph located on the hill of Kafizin, center Cyprus, has been in use for a very short time between 183 and 177 B. C. The Nymph was worshipped by an almost exclusive worshipper and some potters. The offerings consist in hundreds of ceramic vessels. More than 300 are inscribed in Cypro-syllabic and/ or Greek alphabetic scripts. They are mostly Plain ware vases, but some are fine and glazed. The shapes are miscellaneous : varied…

By studying their iconography and their link with the text of the inscriptions, we are led to suggest that they bear witness to ritual shaving.
