Open Access•Raquel De Macedo Bosco, Elisa Priscila Souza Assis et al.•ARTICLE•Cadernos de Saude Publica•2013•Cited by: 2•References: 56

This study evaluated the association between anemia and physical functional capacity in a cross-sectional population-based sample of 709 hospitalized elderly patients aged 60 years and over admitted to the Madre Teresa Hospital, Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. • Assessing the performance of a foraminifera-based transfer function to estimate sea-level changes in northern Portugal

Open Access•Eduardo Leorri, Francisco Fatela et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary Research•2011

We assessed the performance of a transfer function model for sea-level studies using salt-marsh foraminifera from two estuaries of northern Portugal. An independent data set of 12 samples and 13 sub-fossil samples from a core were used to evaluate if reconstructions and errors derived from current models are adequate. Initial transfer function models provided very strong results as indicated by cross-validation (component 2; r 2 = 0.80–0.82; RMSE…

Open Access•Julio O Lázzari, Maurício Gomes Pereira et al.•ARTICLE•Revista Panamericana de Salud…•1998

An electrocardiographic recording method with an associated reading guide, designed for epidemiological studies on Chagas' disease, was tested to assess its diagnostic reproducibility. Six cardiologists from five countries each read 100 electrocardiographic (ECG) tracings, including 30 from chronic chagasic patients, then reread them after an interval of 6 months. The readings were blind, with the tracings numbered randomly for the first reading …
