  • Hidden in the Glaze

Open Access•Lisa Bruzzone, Trinitat Pradell et al.•ARTICLE•Archaeometry•2026

This study investigates technological evolution in 16th–18th century Catalan tin glazes and cobalt blue decorations. Analysis reveals three glaze strategies, highlighting shifts in tin oxide use and cobalt pigment composition. In the 16th century, tin oxide acted as an opacifier and cobalt pigments exhibit low arsenic content with CoO/NiO and CoO/FeO ratios around 1.2. The 17th century shows residual tin and increasing manganese in pigments, whil…

  • Cobalt rich phases formed in processing natural erythrite at high temperatures

Open Access•Lisa Bruzzone, Laura Gaggero et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2025•References: 2

Multi-analytical characterisation of erythrite from Bou Azzer ores. • Determination of phases formed in processing natural erythrite at high temperatures. • Replication of zaffer and treatment recipes using erythrite, borax, and calcite to assess the crystalline phases formed during heating and the amount of arsenic loss. • Characterisation of crystalline and amorphous phases during and after heat treatment by: XRF, XRPD, SR-XRD and SEM-EDS. • As…

  • What is Rock Music Doing to the Minds of our Youth? A First Experimental Look at the Effects of Rock Music Lyrics and Music Videos

Open Access•Patricia M Greenfield, Lisa Bruzzone et al.•ARTICLE•The Journal of Early Adolescence•1987•Cited by: 12•References: 2

This article reports the results of three preliminary studies of the cognitive effects of rock music lyrics and music videos. Study 1 indicates that comprehension of rock music lyrics develops with age and that lyrics are often misunderstood, particularly by young children who lack relevant world knowledge and are at a concrete stage of cognitive development. Study 2 shows that music videos provide less stimulation to imagination and are enjoyed …
