High-resolution paleoenvironmental record of the last 60kyrs BP in the Central Mediterranean
Holocene salt marsh plant communities in the North Adriatic coastal plain (Italy) as reflected by pollen, non-pollen palynomorphs and plant macrofossil analyses
Preboreal climatic oscillations recorded by pollen and foraminifera in the southern Adriatic Sea
Late-Holocene climate variability in the Adriatic Sea (Central Mediterranean)
Planktic and benthic foraminifera assemblages from a set of sediment cores, collected on the Adriatic shelf and the Southern Adriatic deep basin, provide compelling evidence of submillennial-scale environmental changes during the last 6000 years. Repeated peaks in Globigerinoides sacculifer represent warm-dry intervals, including the `Mediaeval Warm Period', the `Roman Age', the late `Bronze Age' and the `Copper Age'. The Last Occurrence (LO) of …
Palaeomagnetic and rock magnetic analysis of Holocene deposits from the Adriatic Sea
We present palaeomagnetic and rock magnetic results from five cores collected in the basin of the Adriatic Sea. Four cores (PRAD2-4; KS02-246; CSS00-23 and CSS00-07) were collected along a shore-parallel transect whereas the fifth core (AMC99-01) was retrieved in the central Adriatic in 250 m water depth, on the floor of the Meso-Adriatic Depression. After alternating field demagnetization, the natural remanent magnetization (NRM) directions show…
