    This article analyzes the case of a capacity-building technology offered by two North American organizations to a non-governmental organization (NGO) in the People’s Republic of China.     In this essay we show how various theories, not least Karen Barad’s theory of agential realism, have inspired us to a reading that opens up theorizing on non-governmental organizing in the People’s Republic of China.
