    The ancient world often spoke of ἄωροι, i.e. “untimely (deceased)”, referring in particular to παῖδες ἄωροι, as can be read in the well-known book by Anne-Marie Vérilhac. Wilhelm Müseler, who passed away on 20 February 2023, did not die at a young age. He lived to the age over 70, which is not an enormously old age by today’s standards

    Alongside Termessos and Sagalassos, Selge was one of Pisidia's leading cities; Strabo refers to the Selgians as the most important of the Pisidians (12.7.1). Selge reached its heyday in Hellenistic times, but was unable to retain its former importance in the Roman imperial period.     This paper discusses a sarcophagus that was found in Gemlik (the ancient city of Kios) some years ago. It bears a longer than usual inscription with many orthographical and some grammatical errors.
