A survey of the ninety-nine issues of the Cahiers Victoriens et édouardiens (CVE) since 1974 reveals the conspicuous absence of detective fiction; so does the consultation of the key words on the CVE website, with no entry for ‘police’ or ‘detection’ for instance, none for Wilkie Collins, The Moonstone, or G.
