  • Microfossil (Diatoms, Tintinnids, and Testate Amoebae) Assemblages in the Holocene Sediments of the Laptev Sea Shelf off the Yana River as a Proxy for Paleoenvironments

    Open Access•M S Obrezkova, Л Н Василенко et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary•2025

The paper presents the results of a microfossil study of Holocene sediments in the Yana River flow zone in the southeastern part of the Laptev Sea. A rich diatom flora (242 species and intraspecific taxa, of which 177 species are freshwater) was revealed; additionally, five species of marine tintinnids (planktonic ciliates) and 15 species of freshwater testate amoebae (testacean) were discovered for the first time in the sea sediments. Three asse…

  • Climate and ice conditions of East Siberian Sea during Holocene

    Open Access•А С Астахов, Valeriy V Babich et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2022•References: 5

Reconstruction of ice conditions and climate of the East Siberian Sea during the Late Middle Holocene was implemented for the first time using a transfer function method based on marine sedimentation proxies. Transfer functions were developed based on a hydrometeorological time series of changes in mean annual air temperature (ΔT 10 ) and the ice-free period (IF 10 ) for the last 70–90 years and a geochemical time series of bottom sediments accum…
