  • Recruitment Difficulties Anticipated by Companies

Georgios Stylos, Aikaterini Sargioti et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Science…•2021

Although students are expected to finish school having a solid understanding of scientific concepts, they graduate from universities maintaining their former misconceptions in several fields, like physics. • The unhappily unemployed return to work faster

    Open Access•Dimitris Mavridis•ARTICLE•IZA Journal of Labor Economics•2015

This paper shows that job loss is associated with a fall in subjective well-being (SWB). It then looks at how this change in SWB predicts job search and unemployment duration. The findings suggest that those who report feeling hurt by unemployment have shorter unemployment durations. Men who report a loss of SWB are also more likely to look for a job, but women’s job search is not affected by the SWB loss. These findings confirm the theoretical p…

  • Detecting Outliers in Factor Analysis Using the Forward Search Algorithm

Dimitris Mavridis, Irini Moustaki•ARTICLE•Multivariate Behavioral Research•2008

In this article we extend and implement the forward search algorithm for identifying atypical subjects/observations in factor analysis models. The forward search has been mainly developed for detecting aberrant observations in regression models (Atkinson, 1994 Atkinson, A. C. 1994. Fast very robust methods for the detection of multiple outliers. Journal of the American Statistical Association, 89: 1329–1339. [Taylor & Francis Online], [Web of Sci…
