Children's Agency in Finding Happiness in the ‘Happiest Country in the World’: A Collaborative Drawing and Storytelling Case Study
This case study explores what kinds of everyday ideas a small group of Finnish children have about happiness and unhappiness, and how these ideas relate to narrated practices and actions aimed at finding happiness. In this article, we analyse a recent case of educational policymaking in the city of Oulu in Finland. The case concerns a ban on asylum seekers’ visits to local schools and day-care centres. Our primary aim is to study the role that negative political emotions play in the decision making process of our case.
