‘Filled with the Holy Spirit’
Upon All Flesh
The Lukan Peter’s quotation of LXX Joel 3.1–5a is the central co-text that frames the outpouring of the Spirit in Acts 2. In this article, I offer three supporting arguments for understanding πᾶσα σάρξ found in Acts 2.17 as referencing all of creation. A Holy Human Spirit
Luke’s use of πνεῦμα ἅγιον stands out from the other phrases that he utilises in Luke-Acts, due to its anarthrous form. While most scholars understand the anarthrous phrase πνεῦμα ἅγιον as a one-of-a-kind expression, the presence of other πνεῦμα , both divine and human, in Luke-Acts indicates that the anarthrous phrase πνεῦμα ἅγιον might refer to something other than the Holy Spirit. In this article, I posit that the anarthrous phrase πνεῦμα ἅγιο…
Mapping Inter-individual Functional Connectivity Variability in TMS Targets for Major Depressive Disorder
Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an emerging alternative to existing treatments for major depressive disorder (MDD). The effects of TMS on both brain physiology and therapeutic outcomes are known to be highly variable from subject to subject, however. Proposed reasons for this variability include individual differences in neurophysiology, in cortical geometry, and in brain connectivity. Standard approaches to TMS target site definition …
Balanced Scorecard Use in New Zealand Government Departments and Crown Entities
While the concept of a balanced scorecard (BSC) has been extensively documented, there is limited research on the application of the balanced scorecard in a public sector environment and in New Zealand. This article examines how the BSC is being used as a performance management system, a strategic management system and to discharge external reporting obligations in three New Zealand public sector organisations. The findings are relevant to both t…
