    One hundred and thirteen women participated in a study of the relationship between acquaintance rape, ego-identity achievement, and locus of control. Results showed that, compared to women who had not been assaulted, survivors of acquaintance rape reported lower ego-identity achievement and greater beliefs that the outcomes of their lives were controlled by luck, chance, or powerful others.
