    Open Access•Borae Jin, Heming Wang•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2024

The payment for ecosystem services (PES) scheme shows great poverty alleviation potential and recognizing this connection contributes to enhancing the development of residents in ecologically endowed areas. Open Access•René M Dailey, Borae Jin et al.•ARTICLE•Interpersona An International…•2013•Cited by: 1•References: 38

To better characterize on-again/off-again (on-off) relationships, the current study examined variations in these relationships using a dimensional approach. Based on a five-typology of on-off relationships, corresponding dimensions were developed and assessed in relation to breakup and renewal negotiations as well as relational quality characteristics. Canonical correlation analyses with 299 participants currently or previously in an on-off relat…

  • Mobile voice communication and loneliness: Cell phone use and the social skills deficit hypothesis

    Open Access•Borae Jin, Namkee Park•ARTICLE•New Media & Society•2012•Cited by: 7•References: 12

This study developed a research model of mobile voice communication on the basis of the social skills deficit hypothesis. In the model, poor social skills were related to less face-to-face and mobile voice communication, which was linked to greater loneliness. Structural equation modeling analyses of survey responses from 374 adults supported the social skills deficit hypothesis in that poor social skills were related to less involvement in face-…

  • On‐again/off‐again dating relationships: How are they different from other dating relationships

    Open Access•René M Dailey, Abigail Pfiester et al.•ARTICLE•Personal Relationships•2009

This article explores the understudied yet prevalent phenomenon of on‐again/off‐again (on‐off) dating relationships. Study 1 ( N = 445 U.S. college students) showed that almost two thirds of participants had experienced an on‐off relationship. Analyses of open‐ended responses about relationship experiences showed on‐off partners were less likely to report positives (e.g., love and understanding from partners) and more likely to report negatives (…
