The regenerative turn
As the introduction to this collection suggests, many of the collected essays identify problems and challenges rooted in orthodoxies (see Gills & Morgan, 2020). Concomitantly, what is yet to be lea
Intersectional knowledge as rural social innovation
The interrelationship between rural, rurality and social innovation still remains underexplored even though there has been considerable work within the individual discourses of social innovation and rural studies. This paper aims at broadening the scope of this interrelationship by exploring the nuanced dynamics and complexities of rural lifeworld and the experiences and knowledges of actors that shape the understanding of rural social innovation…

Social economy and social enterprise
The social policy agenda will be marked by an ageing population on a global scale and by increased and diversified expectations from citizens in the need of work and social service in the decades to come. Public budgets for social service such as health, education and welfare including social work practice will be put under increasing pressure. There is a difference between a social economy approach to the third sector and an approach based upon …
Civilsamfund eller social kapital
Lars Hulgård: Civil Society or Social Capital? An institutional critique of theories of civil society inspired by Habermas and Putnam. There have been two main approaches to theory about the relations between civil society and democracy and the welfare state. One is the approach by Habermas that emphasizes the role of the public sphere as mediator between civil society and representative democracy. The other is an approach inspired by Putnam that…
