  • Medical students’ attitudes toward socioscientific issues in female reproductive anatomy teaching

Open Access•Zhen-Zhen Kou, Jing Gu et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Medical Education•2026

  • Retrieval-Augmented Generation-Based Earth Surface System Association Network Optimization and Data Recommendation

Open Access•Jiangbing Sun, Yan Zhang et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2026

The scientific data of the Earth surface system is characterized by multi-source heterogeneity and dynamic correlation, so constructing an efficient data association network and enabling intelligent knowledge services is a hot topic. Nevertheless, confronted with the existing challenges of onerous data acquisition, inadequate precision of data recommendation, excessive time and labor consumption, as well as insufficient semantic reasoning in inte…

  • Photovoltaic Power Station Construction Alters Soil C, N, and P Stoichiometric Characteristics in Alpine Meadows

Open Access•Mengyao Liu, Mingmeng Liu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

Solar photovoltaic (PV) power generation is crucial for optimizing the energy structure. The vast area of grassland has become the preferred site for building PV stations. The microenvironment changes caused by the construction of PV power stations have a significant impact on soil nutrient redistribution. However, the soil nutrient status, patterns of stoichiometric distribution, and key driving factors of PV plants are unclear, particularly in …

  • Your career gain, my work strain

Open Access•Xiaoyan Liu, Miao Tian et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Psychology•2026

The present study examined how an employee’s vocational delay of gratification (VDG) affects her/his spouse’s work engagement. Drawing upon the JD-R perspective and the spillover-crossover model, we proposed that job incumbents’ limited resources are taken up by VDG, resulting in decreased fulfillment of family roles and increased work-family conflict, which creates a spousal stressor of ego-depletion that in turn, hinders spousal work engagement…

  • Proficiency‐Driven Pathways of the Acquisition and Functional Expansion of English Participles

Open Access•Hui Kang, Miao Tian et al.•ARTICLE•International Journal of Applied…•2026•References: 1

Despite their importance to English grammar, participles are consistently underused by L2 learners. This large‐scale, corpus‐based study investigates their acquisition across proficiency levels by analyzing 12,100 essays from learners with 11 different L1 backgrounds. Utilizing participle distribution analysis and dependency parsing, our findings reveal that proficiency is a stronger predictor of participle use than L1 transfer. Present participl…

  • Co‐selection Pattern of Self‐Mention and Verbs in Academic Discourse

    Open Access•S F Chen, Miao Tian•ARTICLE•International Journal of Applied…•2025•References: 2

The co‐selection pattern of self‐mention and verbs represents a specific linguistic resource formed by the interplay of author‐focused personal pronouns and lexical verbs. Using four self‐compiled corpora of research articles (RAs), this study adopted a bottom‐up approach to comprehensively investigate the forms and functions of this pattern in four disciplines: Literature (soft‐pure), Biology (hard‐pure), Education (soft‐applied), and Informatio…

  • Design Research on the Demands of Older Adults

Yi Li, Miao Tian et al.•ARTICLE•Fashion Practice•2024

Older people’s foot shape and physiological characteristics are very different from those of younger people. It is difficult for older adults to choose appropriate shoes in the market. This paper explores a design method for shoes for older adults who take part in activities and puts forward a feasible design strategy combined with the actual situation. The purpose of this study was to promote a shoe design strategy for older adults, to avoid inc…

  • Developing a Base Domain Ontology from Geoscience Report Collection to Aid in Information Retrieval towards Spatiotemporal and Topic Association

Open Access•Liufeng Tao, Kai Ma et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

The efficient and precise retrieval of desired information from extensive geological databases is a prominent and pivotal focus within the realm of geological information services. Conventional information retrieval methods primarily rely on keyword matching approaches, which often overlook the contextual and semantic aspects of the keywords, consequently impeding the retrieval system’s ability to accurately comprehend user query requirements. To…

  • Spatio-Temporal Relevance Classification from Geographic Texts Using Deep Learning

Open Access•Tian Miao, Miao Tian et al.•ARTICLE•ISPRS International Journal of…•2023

The growing proliferation of geographic information presents a substantial challenge to the traditional framework of a geographic information analysis and service. The dynamic integration and representation of geographic knowledge, such as triples, with spatio-temporal information play a crucial role in constructing a comprehensive spatio-temporal knowledge graph and facilitating the effective utilization of spatio-temporal big data for knowledge…

  • A Triangle Design Framework for Functional Footwear for Chinese Older Adults

Miao Tian, Ye Lei et al.•ARTICLE•Fashion Practice•2021

Well-designed functional footwear can reduce health hazards in various environments. Considering the particular needs of older adults, the design of footwear must address multifunctional demands, which requires the use of the latest technology and extensive research. Focusing on Chinese older adults, this paper proposed a triangle design framework to single out critical research functions of design. It contributes to user-centered design literatu…
