  • Hydrologic controls on the accumulation of different sized microplastics in the streambed sediments downstream of a wastewater treatment plant (Catalonia, Spain)

Open Access•Henar Margenat, Holly Nel et al.•ARTICLE•Environmental Research Letters•2021

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) act as a point source of microplastics (MPs) to freshwater ecosystems. Although MP abundance has been linked to high-density population areas, the mechanisms of how river hydrodynamics and particle size influence MP accumulation in streams are still largely unknown. This study investigated the spatial distribution of MPs within streambed sediments downstream of a WWTP effluent in Cànoves stream (Montseny, Catal…

  • Parenting for the promotion of adolescent mental health

    Open Access•Mónica Ruiz-Casares, Jennifer Drummond et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Social Care in the…•2017

A scoping review of the literature on parenting programmes that target the promotion of adolescent mental health was conducted to examine the quality of the studies and unique content of programmes for parents from ethnoculturally diverse communities. PsycINFO and Web of Science were searched in April, 2011 (for all publications prior to that date) and again in August, 2015 (for publications from April, 2011 to August, 2015) using specific keywor…

  • The Impact of Caregiving

    Open Access•Jennifer Drummond, J D Drummond et al.•ARTICLE•Affilia•2013•Cited by: 3•References: 5

Findings suggest that older women’s sexual identities and experiences of sexuality are marked by both ageist constructions of “older woman as asexual” and loss of self associated with taking on the role of caregiver. Findings also suggest that w…
