Mavi Yolculuk (Blue Voyage): A Journey of Self-Discovery during the Early Decades of the Turkish Republic (1945–1969)
This article investigates the birth in the mid 1940s of Mavi Yolculuk, the Blue Voyage, which is a popular tourist itinerary in Turkey today. It examines the ideology that gave rise to these boat journeys along the south-western coast of Turkey and its connection with national identity formation.
