  • Merkmale diakonischer Unternehmenskultur in einer pluralen Gesellschaft

Carolin Brune, Tim Hagemann et al.•BOOK•Merkmale diakonischer Unternehmensk…•2020

  • Humans take control of fire-driven diversity changes in Mediterranean Iberia’s vegetation during the mid–late Holocene

    Open Access•Simon Connor, Boris Vannière et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2019•Cited by: 4•References: 39

Fire regime changes are considered a major threat to future biodiversity in the Mediterranean Basin. Such predictions remain uncertain, given that fire regime changes and their ecological impacts occur over timescales that are too long for direct observation. Here we analyse centennial- and millennial-scale shifts in fire regimes and compositional turnover to track the consequences of fire regime shifts on Mediterranean vegetation diversity. We e…

  • Bronze Age human–landscape interactions in the southern Transural steppe, Russia – Evidence from high-resolution palaeobotanical studies

    Open Access•Astrid Stobbe, Maren Gumnior et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2016•Cited by: 17•References: 13

The Transural steppe is a cultural contact zone between areas east and west of the Ural Mountains. Mobile pastoralism is the traditional way of life in the steppe, while sedentary cultures constitute an exception, probably as a result of climatic variations. A change of lifestyle together with other innovations is documented at the turn of the 3rd to the 2nd millennia BC and often believed to have been accompanied by a shift to agro-pastoralism. …

  • Late Quaternary salinity variation in the Lake of Siebleben (Thuringia, Central Germany) – Methods of palaeoenvironmental analysis using Ostracoda and pollen

    Open Access•Anna Pint, Heike Schneider et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2016•References: 5

We test several methods of ostracod-based palaeoenvironmental reconstruction using indicator species approach, mutual ecological/climatic range methods, transfer functions, modern analogue technique and morphological variation within Cyprideis torosa in reconstructing the site evolution of a late Quaternary small lake basin in Thuringia, Central Germany. Sediment sections containing a diverse ostracod fauna were studied and compared with those fr…

  • Palynological and sedimentological evidence from the Trans-Ural steppe (Russia) and its palaeoecological implications for the sudden emergence of Bronze Age sedentarism
