  • Plant landscape reconstruction above the current timberline at the Monte Cimone and Corno alle Scale mountain areas (Northern Apennines, Italy) during the Late Holocene

    Open Access•Alessandra Benatti, Marie Claude Bal et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2019•Cited by: 1•References: 12

This paper presents the first pedoanthracological study carried out on two mountains of the Northern Apennines, Monte Cimone, and Corno alle Scale, where the results provided new palaeoenvironmental data. The pedoantracological sampling followed an elevation gradient from the current timberline to the highest possible elevation, also adapted to the geomorphological characteristics of the study areas. Based on radiocarbon datings (16 at Monte Cimo…

  • A comparative review of soil charcoal data

Open Access•Vincent Robin, Oliver Nelle et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2018

The nutrient-poor grasslands of Western Europe are of major conservation concern because land use changes threaten their high biodiversity. Studies assessing their characteristics show that their past and on-going dynamics are strongly related to human activities. Yet, the initial development patterns of this specific ecosystem remain unclear. Here, we examine findings from previous paleoecological investigations performed at local level on Europ…

  • Holocene treeline history of a high-mountain landscape inferred from soil charcoal

Open Access•Salvia García Álvarez, Marie C Bal et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2017

  • The origins of a Nardus stricta grassland through soil charcoal analyses

Open Access•Marie-Claude Bal, Philippe Allée et al.•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2015

  • PCR – Le Plomb argentifère ancien du Mont Lozère (Lozère)

Open Access•Alain Ploquin, Philippe Allée et al.•ARTICLE•ArchéoSciences•2010•Cited by: 3

Open Access•Philippe Allée, Sandrine Paradis et al.•ARTICLE•ArchéoSciences•2010•Cited by: 1
