  • Association Between Gestational Weight Gain and Low Birth Weight Across the Pre‐pregnancy Body Mass Index Strata

Open Access•Malshani Lakshika Pathirathna, Megumi Haruna et al.•ARTICLE•Maternal and Child Nutrition•2025

Investigating the association between gestational weight gain (GWG) on low birth weight (LBW, birth weight < 2500 g) across pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) categories (underweight: < 18.5, normal: 18.5-24.9 and overweight/obese: ≥ 25 kg/m2) is crucial for clinical practice. While the Institute of Medicine's (IOM) 2009 GWG guidelines are widely used, evidence-based data from diverse populations is scarce, creating a global research gap. We exp…

  • Applying the Relational Job Design Theory to the Retail Industry

Open Access•Hiroshige Matsumoto, Yasuhiro Hagiwara et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Social Care in the…•2024•References: 4

Retail workers contribute to the daily wellbeing of customers, including those living with disabilities or diseases. The relational job design theory suggests that one’s perceived social impact (PSI) of their job contributes to improvements in job satisfaction, turnover intention, and persistence. Confirming such an association could encourage organization managers to commit more to community care for the purpose of improving the work outcomes of…

  • Minimal important differences of EORTC QLQ-C30 for metastatic breast cancer patients

Open Access•Takuya Kawahara, Naruto Taira et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2022

We provided the MIDs of the QLQ-C30 using both patient- and clinicians-reported anchors measured in a randomized trial of Japanese patients with metastatic breast cancer. We recommend patient-reported anchors for anchor-based estimation of MID. Our results can aid patients and clinicians, as well as researchers, in the interpretation of QLQ-C30

  • Long-term health status as measured by EQ-5D among patients with metastatic breast cancer

Open Access•Takeru Shiroiwa, Takashi Fukuda et al.•ARTICLE•Quality of Life Research•2016

Our findings suggest that the EQ-5D index value was higher in patients treated with S-1 during first-line chemotherapy. Considering non-inferiority of S-1 in terms of OS, obtained quality-adjusted life years may be greater in the S-1 arm
